Beautiful, timeless and indisputably elegant, marble is often the natural surface choice for the bathroom and has been for many years. From classic white Italian Carrara to colourful terrazzo surfaces, there is a vast array of marbles to choose from. At Cullifords, our extensive collection of marble ranges from the likes of quality Italian Calacatta Oro and Bianco Carrara to exotic terrazzo patterns and quartz marble-effect materials.
The great thing about natural marble slabs is that each one is unique and gives people the opportunity to do something different and ultimately have fun and enjoy their interior. There’s very little these days that isn’t made in a big factory to a predesigned pattern and sold on mass and homeowners and designers are becoming increasingly aware of this fact. A natural marble or stone offers the individuality and freedom that is currently so sought after. This need for something unique and exceptional is what often drives customers to look at the collection of marbles in our stone yard. Choosing marble for the bathroom is a big investment and as such, it is highly recommended to come and see the specific marble you will be choosing to make sure you are happy with what you are getting.
White Italian Marble Bathroom
Here at Cullifords, we pride ourselves on our ability to select the finest blocks of white marbles. A specialist combination of technical and artistic skill that has been finessed over generations, we are the number one high quality marble importers in the UK.
Teamed with an all-white bathroom scheme, white marble walls are the perfect choice for a luxurious finish. With so many different variations to choose from, it’s important to consider how detailed you want your marble to be. Characterised by a sharp white background and defined oval-shaped veining, Arabescato Corchia marble is ideal for achieving a classic look in a high-end bathroom. One of the more detailed marbles, the veining in Arabescato Corchia makes a statement on its own and will work just as well on walls as on floors and countertop surfaces. For a softer overall appearance, Arabescato Vagli has a slightly creamier background and much lighter grey veining, and is also a common choice when it comes to marble in the bathroom.
Each and every piece of marble that is found in the Kingston-Upon-Thames stone yard is guaranteed to have been through a very careful selection process, crafted into slabs by the best factories, machinery and workforce in Italy. The knowledgeable team will advise on the best available material suited to each and every project requirement.
Colourful Marble Bathroom Surfaces
Whilst white marbles are still king, we are seeing more and more houses, designers and clients experimenting more with colour and pattern. When it comes to bathrooms, there has been a definite shift towards more statement ‘wow factor’ pieces, as people have an increasing desire for something distinctive and one-off. This trend has developed into a drift towards more terrazzo looking surfaces, or what is referred to in the stone world ‘brecciated stones’, which is a bit more of a retro look and a move away from the plain to something a bit busier and striking in structure and appearance, such as the Opera d’Arte marble.
A truly unique and exotic marble, Opera d’Arte will add an impressive statement feature to the home. Sourced from France, this pattern-filled surface has an exquisite depth of colour and detail, from a deep intense violet shade to a lighter lilac and hints of green. Characterised by its eye-catching scattered shapes, this exquisite marble will transform any bathroom space and will work exceptionally well as a bathroom countertop.
Whilst Italian marble is often associated with the whites of Carrara, there are a number of other coloured marbles also found in Italy. The waves of white and shades of green within the Verde Luana marble make for the perfect statement surface in a bathroom. Set against the crisp white finish of sanitaryware and beautiful brassware, the exquisite detailing of this unique marble is the epitome of luxury and is ideal for those wanting to achieve a distinctive and memorable look.
Marble-Effect Quartz
There’s no denying that the classic white Italian marble look is still very much the most popular trend at the moment in bathrooms. And whilst we sell a huge amount of natural Carrara marble we also have a lot of marble-effect Quartz composite surfaces.
Offering the most natural looking marble-effect products on the market, Radianz quartz surfaces provides a range of finishes and patterns to choose from. A high-density, non-porous composite surface, Radianz materials are suitable for a number of applications including the bathroom. For a Tuscan Carrara marble feel, Lucern Lake is the perfect choice whilst Denali Cloud offers stunning brown veining similar to other Calacatta marbles from Italy. Both extremely popular choices, Radianz’s marble-effect slabs will deliver the appearance and sophisticated feel of marble in the bathroom at an affordable price.
