Case Study: Arabescato Corchia Bathroom in Kensington, London.

A stunning bathroom transformation in the heart of London. This bathroom combines innovative design with age old Arabescato Corchia marble and the results are truly remarkable.

At Cullifords, we are always excited to see the completed projects and designs that include slabs from our collection. This project was completed in Autumn, 2020 and we are told the clients were delighted with the results.

The architecture/interior styling for this project was presented to the client by Layzell Architects based in Parson’s Green, London. Laura Wells is the Director and she kindly gave us a little more insight into the project:

“At Layzell Architects we are obsessive about sourcing interesting and unusual natural materials for our projects. For our latest residential project in Notting Hill, the design concept for the master bathroom was to create a sumptuous and luxurious space that was timelessly elegant, whilst individual, unique and full of personality. We wanted something in keeping with the buildings Victorian past, yet relevant for its future.

This project required 7 slabs of 2cm Arabescato Corchia marble and a great design vision to transform this bathroom. The material was sourced by Gerald Culliford Ltd in Kingston Upon Thames.

Material Sourcing

The process for sourcing our material involves a lot more work and attention to detail than most would think. Some companies may have easier processes of making a phone call and buying what they need at the time. Our 50 year history of importing materials has led to decades long relationships with the quarry co-operative and different suppliers. This history makes us a unique distributor of high quality natural stone.

Because we have our ear close to the ground where these beautiful materials are quarried, we are able to find the right blocks for the current market. As a result, we can then ensure that the correct structure and colour requirements of the client can be met time and time again.
