Lundhs Antique Larvikite for Pluck Kitchens at ‘The Mix’ East London

Project Overview

Cullifords were delighted to supply Lundhs Antique Larvikite for The Mix, a new interiors destination created by handmade‑tile specialists Bert & May in East London. The space brings together ten British design brands, each chosen for their craftsmanship and distinctive aesthetic. Among them, Pluck were invited to design a show kitchen that would evoke the atmosphere of a contemporary members’ club, blending rich materials with a refined, moody palett‘This one-of-a-kind destination brings together a curated collection of distinctive, design-led interiors brands – each with their own story, style, and passion for making.’ said Lee Thornley, founder of Bert & May ‘The Mix is more than a showroom. It’s a meeting place for designers, makers, and anyone who loves interiors with soul’.

Material Spotlight

Pluck’s scheme combined Aubergine Eco Colour cabinetry, London Plane timber, and the soft green of Brockwell Moss interiors. The brief required a natural stone surface that could anchor these tones while adding depth, tactility and a subtle iridescence.

Lundhs Antique Larvikite was selected for its unique mineral structure and warm, dappled colouring. The stone’s natural blue, lilac flashes complement the cabinetry, while its textured surface suits the industrial character of the warehouse setting. Durable and visually striking, it provides both performance and presence within this high‑traffic design destination.

Sourcing Insight

For this project, the designers required a surface with both presence and restraint – something geological, atmospheric and quietly luxurious. Lundhs Antique was selected for its ability to harmonise with the colour scheme and the other beautiful natural and manmade materials chosen.

Lundhs Antique is part of the Lundhs Real Stone collection. A 100% natural stone from Norway made from Larvikite and Anorthosite. Crafted by nature millions of years ago, the exceptional stones combine unique aesthetics with excellent performance to create the ideal surface choice for worktops and tiles.

Among Norway’s most unique natural stones, Anorthosite is a rock with a spectacular play of colours and deep roots in Norwegian geology. Quarried along the coast of Rogaland, Anorthosite is distinguished by blue, green, and golden reflections, a durable and beautiful stone that combines nature’s own artistry with timeless design.

As a specialist stone wholesaler, we supply Lundhs Antique for it colour consistancy, structural integrity, and reliable fabrication performance, ensuring suitability for both residential and commercial applications.

Design & Selection Process

Cullifords supplied slabs of Lundhs Antique, fabricated for the main kitchen worktops and the statement Turnmill Prep Table. The Larvikite’s reflective feldspar crystals interact beautifully with the jewel‑like Curiosa glass lighting and the antique brass hardware from Armac Martin, enhancing the atmospheric feel of the space. The kitchen sits within a curated environment featuring materials and makers including:

• Bert & May handmade tiles
• Armac Martin brass hardware
• Whitebirk Sink Co. fireclay sinks
• Farrow & Ball wall colours
• Curiosa Glass Lights

Within this collection of crafted elements, Lundhs Antique acts as the grounding material – a natural stone with depth, character and long‑term durability.
