Project Overview

This residential kitchen project was completed for interior designer Natalie Jahangiry in her own home in Twickenham, London. During the early design phase, Natalie explored a wide range of surface options at Cullifords – including marble, granite, and quartz, assessing each material for aesthetics, practicality, and long‑term performance. After reviewing the full selection, she chose ceramic for its marble‑inspired appearance, exceptional durability, and family‑friendly resilience.

Sapienstone Fior Di Viola 4D offered the perfect balance: the refined look of natural stone with the heat resistance, stain resistance, and everyday practicality required for a busy family kitchen. The design blends warm cabinetry tones, brass fixtures, and layered natural textures to create a refined, contemporary interior centred around a striking feature island, worktop and splash-back.

The 4D manufacturing process enhances realism, as the vein pattern runs through-out the thickness of the material, meaning no blank edges or need to mitre in the fabrication process. Design & Fabrication Process

The design intent focused on creating a seamless, high‑impact worktop and splashback that would act as the visual anchor of the kitchen. Fabricators – Purple Granite aligned the veining across horizontal and vertical planes to achieve a continuous, uninterrupted flow around and behind the sink area and shelf.

Key fabrication details include:

High splash-back to emphasise the stone’s dramatic patterning.
Brass fixtures and lighting chosen to enhance warmth and contrast.
Minimal edge profiles for a clean, contemporary finish.
Strategic lighting placement to highlight depth, texture, and veining.

Results

The completed kitchen is a harmonious blend of luxury materials and functional design.
